The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has removed Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman, Haliru Bello Mohammed.
The announcement came as a surprise to many party members because reports said the party moved its National Executive Committee, National Caucus and Board of Trustees meetings till next week.

Reports say it is connected to Mohammed’s indictment in the ongoing $2.1b arms probe, also involving the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The party, has however announced that a new acting BOT chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin steer the ship for now.

Jibrin, reports say, will be in acting capacity, till a chairman is appointed. He was formerly the secretary of the BOT.

The Board meeting came as a surprise to many party members because reports said the party moved its National Executive Committee, National Caucus and Board of Trustees meetings till next week.

He said “If we put our house together, if we stay together, if we put the past behind us, we will take back our inheritance, it is our inheritance taken by deception, taken by propaganda, taken by hidden agenda,”

The leadership of the party has been in a power tussle involving its acting chairman, Uche Secondus, and self appointed chairman, Ahmed Gulak, who served as political adviser to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan.
